About Reflections
These two horses were created using fine silver with accents of 18 karat gold. The two horses are sculpted out of one sheet of fine silver with depth and volume achieved using the ancient technique of Chasing and Repoussé.
Although the horses are very similar, each horse is its own individual. As they are completely hand made, perfect symmetry was not the goal. Instead, the perception of symmetry through a version of reflection allows the horses to appear identical. This pendant is adorned with 24k gold keumboo. Black Tourmaline and 14k gold beads make this necklace pop!
It was one of those days, followed by one of those evenings.
The birds flew lazily, no wind to fight, no breeze to alter their course. The grass, drooping in the heat of the day, returned to height as the sun dipped toward the treetops on the horizon. The water on the pond stood still. No ripple, no change. Any creature that would disturb the surface snoozed in the shade of the banks.
The mare approached it cautiously, lured to it by the scent of a drink, unsure of the reflective stillness of it. She peered over the vegetation that clung to the shallows, and met the horse underneath that came up to meet her.
Eyes widened. Nostrils flared and blew, causing the first ripples of the evening. She jumped, then returned, finding the other was there to meet her gaze.
The beauty you see in me is a reflection of you.
